Biography:
Featured in the 2009 September issue of Vogue magazine, Shannon Carney is an American contemporary jeweler who was raised in the United States. She attended Indiana
University where she graduated Cum Laude in both Jewelry
Design, and Business. In 2004 Shannon moved to Europe,
eventually attending Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery
School in Florence, Italy. There she studied with Manfred
Bischoff and Sofie Lachaert. In 2005 Shannon won an
artist's residency in the Cote d'Azur of France where
she lived and worked for one year.
Upon returning
to live in Italy, Shannon was selected as one of three
jewellery finalists for the contest
"WHO IS ON NEXT 2007" organized by
Vogue Italia
and Alta Moda. Shannon
then went on
to collaborate with
fellow finalist,
Paolo Errico, to create
accessories
for his runway show
during AltaRoma's
January 2008 week
of fashion. This
lead to collaborations
with Italian
fashion label Mila Schon
to create accessories
for their
Fall/Winter 2008-2009
runway show in
Milan, Italy,
and more recently their
Sring/Summer
2009 show.
Shannon has also collaborated with
Giuliano Fujiwara to create accessories
for their Spring/Summer 2009 runway
show in Milan. Shannon currently
resides between Italy and Chicago,
IL.
