For the past 7 years, I have been studying and
working in the world of contemporary art jewellery
with its strong tradition of one-of-a-kind design
and production. Within my Contemporary Collection,
I hand pour and color each individual piece of
resin. This allows me to specifically dictate
the color and luminosity of every piece. I pay
great attention to color gradation and the rhythm
created through these shifts and differing combinations
of color.
My Contemporary Collection reflects observations
of the world around me. I continually look to
colors in nature for inspiration. Since moving
to Florence, I have become captivated by the images
of fashion photography. I am particulary drawn
to fashion photography, for its diverse use of
color to both compliment and direct the
image. My contemporary jewellery is a translation
of all of these various inputs into concrete color
and form.
My Fine Collection draws inspiration and has been
a natural evolution from my Contemporary Collection.
The Fine Collection reduces the Contemporary Collection
to it's most basic elements: line, form, and movement.
It also incorporates similar handworking methods,
as I individually hammer every piece of gold.
More recently I have begun to incorporate colored
precious and semi-precious stones into the Fine
Collection. This provides me another opportunity
to use color, but through the use of a new material.
Every element of my jewelry is handmade. Therefore,
I am able to modify these pieces by size, color,
and metal to meet the specific needs of my clients.
