Shannon Carney Jewelry
THE DESIGNER : Profiled in the September issue of Vogue magazine, Shannon Carney is an American contemporary jeweler who started her career working in Italian fashion. From 2004-2009 Shannon lived in Florence and Milan, Italy, where she introduced her 18kt gold collection at Milan's prestigious specialty store, 10 Corso Como. Shannon was also a finalist in Vogue Italia's "Who Is On Next?" contest and created jewelry for the runway shows of Paolo Errico, Mila Schon, and Giuliano Fujiwara.
Since introducing her collection to the US in 2009, Shannon's jewelry has been featured in Elle Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, the September issue of Vogue, and Women's Wear Daily.
Shannon Carney Jewelry is hand-crafted from 18kt and 14kt gold, precious and semi-precious stones.
HAMMERED GOLD : Each piece of Shannon Carney Jewelry is hammered by hand. This allows Shannon to create subtly irregular surfaces, as well as to provide strength to her lightweight, and often intricate designs.
GEMSTONES : Shannon thinks beauty comes in all colors, shapes, and sizes. Certain stones are selected specifically for their irregularities, imperfections, and small inclusions. Together, these details all contribute to making each piece of jewelry uniquely elegant.
NOTES ON CARE : Shannon Carney Jewelry is meant to be worn every day! And while we hope the little scratches and dings, that occur over time, will happily remind you of the sweet history you are creating with each piece of jewelry, Shannon does have a few important suggestions for long term care:
When traveling, or anytime jewelry is not being worn, do store it in the hard clear AMAC, or white paper, gift box your jewelry arrived in.
Remove jewelry when sleeping, playing (some) sports / swimming, during strenuous activity, serious cleaning, or heavy lifting.
Special care to avoid immersing opals in water.
